Update to Pathfinder Requirements

Posted August 28th

The homes of Diane and Ken Huhta and Herb and Erica Johnson of Northwood, ND were hit by the tornado last night.  Diane and Ken's home was hit very badly and Herb and Erica not quite as bad.  Siding pieces, broken glass and trees and branches were scattered  all over Ken and Diane's yard and there was also considerable damage to their doors and porches.  Miles Christianson brought his tractor there to help clean up Huta's yard and also other yards. Star members from Acacia Chapter, Mark and Jan Hoffmann, Neil Rowe, Laurie Christianson and their son, Alex, and various other friends spent the day helping to clean up the Huhta's yard.  Driving to and from Northwood we were shocked to see the damage.  Cars which looked like balls of steel were scattered in the fields outside of Northwood, train cars had been blown off the tracks, many houses were destroyed--completely blown down or roofs and walls blown away.  Our chapter is contributing funds to help the Hutas and Johnsons to repair their homes and OES relief  is also contributing. We will be helping more this week as needed.

Just thought you would like to know that two of our Acacia families were affected by the tornado that ripped through Northwood Sunday night.  Ken and Diane Huhta received extensive damage and I am not sure about Herb and Erika Johnson, but apparently 90% of the town was ripped apart so am assuming they were too.  I know they received some damage - just not the extent as yet.  Neil, Mark and Jan Hoffmann are over there now trying to help as much as possible.  Will know more when they return and will fill you in on the situation.

Keep them in your prayers, please.

More later,
Cleo Rowe

Just to let you know we have a couple of our members affected by the tornado
in Northwood.
Ken Huhta is our Worthy Patron and Diane Huhta  is our Conductress.   They
had a tree fall on their house,  they have someone elses garage in their
yard and I dont remember everything  will get with you later as I hear more
of the details   Dorothy
